Grounds for the Recall of Trustees Jergensen & Hurley

We, the concerned citizens of Sunol, demand the recall of School Board Trustee Ryan Jergensen DDS. Our decision is a response to a profound loss of trust in his ability to serve our community and uphold the principles of responsible governance. Trustee Jergensen's actions and behavior have demonstrated a pattern of disregard for the wellbeing of our students, the community, and the success of Sunol Glen Unified School District, including:

• Obstructing civil discourse by silencing opposing voices, refusing transparency, and limiting our community's right to engage in debate regarding board policy;
• Flagrantly violating board bylaws and state law, demonstrating inability to meet governance standards, exposing the district to significant legal and financial liability with legal fees up nearly 240% and rising;
• Disrespecting school staff and the community; under his leadership the board has sowed an environment of hostility and division;
• Failure to abide by the "Sunol Glen Unified School District Code of Ethics for Board Members - Norms of Governance and Behavior";
• Opposing the stated values and vision of the district by enacting policy with callous indifference to the impact it has on the mental health and wellbeing of vulnerable students.

In light of these serious transgressions we must recall Trustee Jergensen to restore order, respect, and good governance to our school board.  

We, the concerned citizens of Sunol, demand the recall of School Board Trustee Linda Hurley. We have lost trust in her ability to serve our community and uphold the principles of responsible governance. Trustee Hurley’s actions and behavior demonstrate a pattern of disregard for the wellbeing of students, the community and the success of Sunol Glen Unified School District, including:

• Flagrantly violating board bylaws and state law, demonstrating inability to meet governance standards, exposing the district to legal and financial liability with legal fees up nearly 240% and rising;
• Obstructing civil discourse by silencing opposing voices, limiting our community's right to engage in debate regarding policy;
• Sowing divisiveness by proposing irrelevant items that are promoted by outside groups with radical, regressive agendas, are harmful to students and have been rejected at the state level;
• Incompetence in fulfilling her role, hindering the board and wasting valuable district resources;
• Disrespecting school staff and the community, contributing to hostility and division; 
• Opposing the stated values and vision of the district by enacting policy with callous indifference to the impact it has on the mental health and wellbeing of vulnerable students.

We must recall Trustee Hurley to restore order, respect, and good governance to our school board.
